december round up

December always means holiday mood... so it's a month of happenings... great food... and yeah end up i ate too much rubbish and suffered.. boo

oh well, still not that bad i guess... everyone had their own share of fun, it's still good :)

only left a few days to the end of dec le... i guess i'm kinda dreadin that (tho i'm lookin fwd to new year eve gathering wif AS peeps since i've missed the xmas one) yet curious to noe wat next year will bring... reallie can't tell... next year is a whole year of ????s (esp in terms of work... i cannot predict wat will happen after feb... dunno when are the deadlines.. if i'll be transferred away if the proj's gonna end... or not??? den wat? new team members? :S i'm not a person who like changes a lot... tho till date changes have mostly been towards the better direction... still very apprehensive... :S

oh well, about time to say goodbye to 2008... has been a rather good year despite all the fan4 tai shui thinkin back now... hope nxt year will be better... :)

today's moi company's family day... but it's a weird family day event cuz u can OTOT go and take the flyer anytime today... >.> wanted my parents to go, but my mom refused... so end up i go take flyer wif polar bear again

we headed off to fort canning hill for Ben and Jerry's Chunk Fest and was shocked to realise that the queue for US-flown-in ice cream flavours are so freaking long x_x
so din get to try it.. sigh....

headed dwn to the flyer after that.. all sweaty... :S but in the span of the couple of hours there, bumped into many ppl... like teckyew and his family, my cousin, owm, simon and family, joanna and husband, alvin and wife, ek wif gf and mom, brenda and bf, ailing and bf then ice lastly when i left the flyer.....

after that went to walked around, landed up at esplanade eventually and i actually get to scribble some wishes for the new year on those white balls they throw into the.... river now become reservoir along esplanade there... doing my part to pollute the waters. lol...i wish i can keep the ball tho...

i wish... there will be less naggings... tho i reallie can't be that much bothered wif her... she shld reallie juz learn the power of her voice and no nid to keep re-emphasizing the same thing... easy things she keep repeating... more chim ones she dun wanna explain more... weirdz...

i wish.. there'll be less documentations + reports to do... the monthly report is bad enuff le... let alone a documentation of the software.. *dies* i'm a point form person... don't like to beat about the bush... prefer to go straight to the point... like to look at things more simply... use lameman terms and dun like to repeat... if can refer, refer... why repeat smthin i can refer? *blurs* idk wat's the point of so many documents.... cuz eventually i'll still refer back... well, i guess they dun catch my point, i don't understand their way also.... @_@ redundant... contradicting... x_x

sigh... idk la... working morale is all time low... yet my workload is all time high...

Sodagreen: 陪我歌唱 Concert @ MAX Pavillion

This is the first time I went for a concert (演唱会) so blogging a bit about it.

Ppl attended: tk, larry, polar bear n moi :)

The concert's not the grand type... in fact it's considered small scale (since they can't afford to be grand tho... their supporters pool still not big enough) but the songs and singing were goot and still makes it very worth it. Better than listening to CDs reallie! (not that the CDs are badly done... just that there's something CDs can never capture in live music)

There was lotsa joke cracking in the concert.. albeit some jokes are really quite.. cold ~_~ but i would wish he could sing abit more and talk a bit less.. ha! oh well, never mind :P

no time to ponder

now the usual time table of my day is:

- eat
- sleep
- work (mon to fri)
- chit chat (wif polar bear, collagues(mainly mon to fri) and frens (from time to time)
- drawing sessions (once a week average)
- going out (half a week nt @ home)
- finding stuff to watch/read online
- stone

perhaps work has made me less willing to move my brain while nt working... :S

taiwan again

yup, back @ taiwan wif polar bear tis time... tho half the trip my nose is runny/blocked or i'm sufferin frm abit of cough... but hell, still continued to play n walk ard....

only the 2nd last day came down wif gastric.. so only after eating the right medicine... i can go out at night... abit wasted... but the hotel is quite comfy for 3 star anyway... tons of channel to watch... tho 90% of the channels I don't fancy

as for the tour of taipei tis time, go to more of the tourist oriented spots... like
- maokong's gondola (is goot becuz of really really steep slopes... if only the weather is cooler then...)
- miramar ferris wheel (totally no kick)
- taipei 101 (really tall wor... den can go open air.. but once go open air le v hard to see anything due to the grills.. :\ den end up bumping into a huge bunch of kids on tour... so.. kinda noisy)...
- hotspring ... (tho we din go to the public one... it's quite interesting... n... v hot... hope that day weather was cooler too....)
we also visited yang min shan a short while... also went to the gold museum at jin shan... and got ourselves deserted @ the waterfalls :\ the bus drivers all dun come dwn cuz they lazy or dunno wat n we gotta take a cab up...

we also discovered the night market at dan shui... which is actually very very crowded.... while shilin is like almost deserted le... haiz...

was fun! though sadly some places don't seem as good as they were the 1st time i went le...

so after loitering around raffles place.. we headed down to meet the rest @ raffles place mrt...
doh, end up the ppl going pitstop aside frm the both of us onli got lia, zn and sm.... >.> the rest all not free!!!! D: sigh thankgdness never org picnic... else u can imagine 5 of us sit there and the tumbleweed rolling pass XD (ok la i exaggerated... =x)

so @ pitstop... was greeted by evelyn who actually still rmb mi! (shock cuz the last couple of times back there i din see her) anyway... we started wif playing firsthand (that game which for the pass 2 sessions of boardgaming wif colleagues always hav de... ) and after that... intrigue... X|
ok, i suck at scheming games.... i can't negotiate well fer nuts... so i definately can't win.... but yeah... so i'll give that game a miss in future... not fer mi... but that game's long... until qiling came over n watch us play.... and so it occupied us all the way until we headed down to central to meet up with the rest(js, ahp, lj and erik)... den i dragged all of them to marutama ramen shop... :D cuz i still think they've got the best ramen i've tasted... glad everyone liked it.. :P but was too bloated anyway.. (the soup's too good so i drank it all up)

well after that we ended up walkin ard... and landed ourselves in the patisserie @ clark quey there... not bad cakes + strudel + sour strawberry waffle keke... den was crapping abit... turning myself left and right in their almost frictionless stool...

spent quite sometime there... then headed back slowly... guess everyone's tired or still have tons of things to rush... as fer mi i'm too bloated... mebbe i shld go easy on the soup nxt time...

anyway, hope js n ahp wun mind the celebration... kinda... hasty n not planned... everyone's bz.... D:

ydae yq treated us ST peeps (kwee, ron, hm n mi) to dinner over @ changing appetites (in marina sq)... weird things tho... no one tried their burgers.. lol

for starters we got their calamari rings... find it alrite... well fried calamari rings r not that spectacular to mi =p
i tried their honey-ed baby back ribs... not bad reallie... tho i thought the sauce is a tad too sweet :S budden the meet is quite soft... so quite easy to eat with knife n fork. portion's big too :D

but becuz we were caught in a bad jam on our way to marina sq (like everywhere ard our office is jammed... arGH)... we din really spend tons of time eating... well so parted ways wif ron since he din wanna go there anymore :S
so we headed dwn to dragonfly in a cab... where the cabbie is in more of a rush than us..... :S pretty scary... cuz was tossed left and right front and back @_@ oh well but thx to him.. we made it in time before unhappy hr sets in.... and managed to find a table after standing ard fer a while :D  ordered black label one fer one... and realised tonight they're opening limited edition ones.  got a nice canister instead of the usual black box..

so the 1st bottle lasted us from 9 - 11pm.... den polar bear came n join us... got hm to help fetch him in... =p haha by the time polar bear come i knew wat i was to expect... them tryin to make him down drinks.... hahaa... den yq tried to use my nxt yr's bonus (tis yr dun hav cuz i'm a contract staff) to make him drink lol.... polar bear say... why got such good deal de.. get to drink and will have bonus.. =p but... he din down it all... :'( so mi no bonus le i guess...

anywayz... somehow... the 2nd bottle lasted only till midnite =.= well what happens after that i guess i shldn't say bah... hahaha.... =p
eventually polar bear din drink much.... but he says the bass is making him giddy? kekeke
was fun :D

but perhaps, if there's ever gonna be a nxt trip... doubt will be in anytime soon.... =p and 1 bot is it.

oops, realised i haven't blogged fer nearly a month.... :S

well currently life's still alright... tho i think i'm becoming cynical by the day...

work wise... since cny started till end.. it's like eat and eat and eat... lunches, dinners, teambuildings... shucks i better watch my diet... ><~ of cuz i'm being piled with more stuff to do... and quite alot haven't started officially so dunno how it's gonna become in future... see how bah....
of cuz new staff are coming in... quite interesting to observe :P and of cuz there's other quite interesting incidents..but i guess one of them is definately not something tat we want it to happen again >.>

frens wise... still met up wif AS gang.. tho not that frequently now since everyone's bz one way or another.. but stil ok i guess :D everyone's the same la... not much changes... juz as crappy and fun to be wif... hehehe
juz had a 20/01 class outing with a couple of rare show ups :D quite successful fer a last min outing reallie... nice to keep in touch wif everyone =)

boardgaming wise... didn't actually plan to go but ended up going (due to circumstances) fer consecutively 2 days.... darn i'm running out of games to play... and my blokus skill still sux...(all attack, block everyone out... incl myself -_-) introduced cartegena to yq ey all.... seems like they quite like it tho :D (step on everyone! =x)

alumnico wise.... well, rabobank ended... thank goodness... so i guess i'll reallie 封笙(水起)... will still help in comm matters... but i guess perf side i reallie dun wan liao... ><

gong xi fa cai to everyone~

finally cny eve has passed and so the 1st day of cny is about to be over too! two hectic days gone... and finally can relac abit more...

everything is almost as per usual bah ('cept tis yr boonwah came over earli in da morning... congrats! no. 1!).... but today went to catch kungfu dunk (initially they wanted CJ7 but the tickets are selling even hotter than hotcakes o_O... but good in a sense so i dun need to keep rewatchin the show =x)... well becuz it's so like not hot as compared to CJ7... we start to doubt if the show really gonna sux that much....

after watching.... i guess it's still quite watchable.... quite funny also.... cuz the cast is quite big.. u dun hafta see Jay Chou's pretty much expressionless face throughout the show non stop... he did smile and cry and make some weird sounds O_o... visual effects are quite good... tho of cuz there are quite a few stuff that seems to resemble Slam Dunk but tt's alrite i guess...

another fri out wif colleagues~!

yesterday was meant to be the actual day of lab rearrangement, but somehow we managed to get it done partly before yesterday... hahaa

well, it's my turn to treat this time and i jio-ed everyone to cafe iguana... well, something very different from what usually ppl will eat here in sg... =p ppl that came got yq, ek, hm, wf, sher, ron, pl, jsn, jul, ven (who reached pretty late) and mi of cuz...

well, i ordered an extra plate of nachos and a jug of blueberry(yq chose the flavor) magarita...
those that drank the magarita said that it taste like slurpee... (oops =x) but at least the feedback for their nachos are still goot =D

as for the main course...  i guess people either find it too beany (if i'm not wrong, jsn and pl's one got like tons of beans... which i like but they dun. =x) or too flour-ry... many chimichangas are left half finished (as in half the tortilla wrap is left there) then fajitas wise it's left with the wrap also... and jul actually went to eat that chilli that came along with his fajita (tho i thought it's meant for more like a deco) and he went downing water after that... hahaa.. yq had supposedly medium well steak which is not that big actually and a tad too well... and it seems like he had tasted so many steaks he actually sayz that in sg, 
there's no place that does the steak really to medium well nicely... haha...
well, i had burritos... which is quite flour-ry so i start picking out the wrap here and there so that it won't be so filling.. and they're pretty cheesy too... but still i started to feel really full upon reachin half the burrito...  but thankgdness hm and yq wanted to try and i get to share the half with them... hahaa XD.. tis made hm really full and yq says he felt full after eating that slice of my burrito... so... i guess it's really damn filling. :S

enough with the food there... we sat until 8+... waiting fer Ven (who arrived ard 7+) to finish her mini chimichanga (which is filling enuff already... while sher is still starin at half her chimichanga.. and eventually giving up =x) den we headed back to harbourfront (which we came frm since our workplace aint so far frm it) and headed in to dragonfly @ st. james powerstation... free entry before 9 but it was like damn crowded... 
before that jul had quitely inched away and ran off to liang court to take a walk (yq noes that tis time jul wun join so he din even bother askin) and pl decided to go home and we parted ways @ nel...
i was quite surprised that somehow the rest are all coming along... since like many of them 
(ron, sher and wf like don't drink at all o_o and i rmb ron sayin he hates places like tis...) so eventually we ended up wif a table that's kinda too small.. so was juz
standin around it and listening to the uber loud blasting frm the band... and wats more... we got a lousy seat at the back of the band.. = music is even louder... but the band's quite ok... i'm quite surprised that they sang many songs that i knew... (so was pretty happy over that cuz nowadays like go ktv and many songs i dunno ;_;) hm went to apply fer membership... (dunno how much it cost him) and end up we got a bottle of jw black label along with 3 small bots of (yuckky, uber sour) champagne... o_o ron sher and wf got shirley's temple, jsn got graveyard(which i dunno exactly wat is mixed into it) and ven got white russian (baileys + milk... but hers is alot of milk v little baileys... =c)  but eventually ron, sher, wf and ven left around 11+ and left the same usual gang there.... yq, hm, ek, jsn and mi... tho jsn dun seem to be enjoying much still... spent half the time smsing ppl o_O and while we hav no intention of finishing that bottle of whiskey...some how it was finished w/o us realising until it's too late... i din drink much tis time.... had like half a glass and keep mixing it with green tea and ice... and eventually all green tea... hahaa.. but later ended up downing the yuckky champange cuz ther's nothin else to drink >_> so we all gave that *blegh* expression everytime we drink it... haaha...

tho... quite stun the band at around 1+ started singing children cartoon songs... like doraemon.. and even fan xiao xuan's excercise song... (左三圈，右三圈…) haha i guess after that performance, we juz finished up everything, wait for hm to go collect his membership card... den i hopped onto the cab and headed home... my ears felt kinda deaf now tho... i hope it's not permanent =S if i ever were to go there again, i'll stay away from the back of the band ;_;

time flies?

perhaps it's really true that time flies once you hit ur twenties... =s

weekdays pass pretty fast (esp when u hav work to do / u and ur colleagues all got not much work to do... LOL)
weekends pass even faster (onli 2 days... -_-)

which i guess is pretty much one of the big worries i hav bah....

- future (the future will always worry me... i don't quite like thinking too ahead...)
- kids (or should they be on the hate list? the brats at my house caused this.. and they're not making it any better... )
- skin (good ol' eczema's still not reallie gone yet... and i seem to see a good deal of wrinkles... *Shrieks*)
- relationships (all sorts of human relationships that is... are... vulnerable to time... and distance... somehow... blah.. need to constantly maintain... hahaa)
- my temper (somehow... i'm flaring up quite easily... perhaps becuz of many stimulants i'm getting in my life and i can't contain it... i don't want to hav one day that i'll really loose it...)
- health (need excercise.... else i'll prolly be the next one that'll die from running)

byebye 2007... and hello 2008~

2007 don't feel long to me somehow but thinking back... it is rather long... and also marks a year with quite abit of turning point in my life... not that i've really deviated from my supposed life i guess... hahaa but got quite abit of milestones bah =p

1stly it marked the end of my studying life... not that i'll stop learning... but it's very unlikely i'll step back into schools full time again...
of cuz with it markin the end to my 4 years in uni... it marks the beginning of my career life... and also love life (which came abt the same time tho there's no link.)

thankiew to my dear colleagues... they're really nice people =) made my working life enjoyable (not that is not just bearable. hahaa) and aside frm having to wake up super earli fer work.. there's nothing much bad about going to work... it seems.

of cuz i hafta thank polar bear too... he's been a great bf i hafta say... tolerating, understanding and nice. though i wish he'll be less stubborn and no nid to keep seeing me home... it's tiring reallie...

lastly need to thank all my frens... (excl. colleagues and polar bear actually.. tho they're also frens too. haha) well i've realise i've got less time to spend with my frens actually... tho i manage to meet up with the AS gang here and there... the remaining frens i don't reallie see them more than 5 times in the remaining half of the year... oh well, thank you all those who bothered to keep in touch with me... and i never forgot any of u all... juz i guess i'm really a lazy person to the boot.. i'm even lazy in going to read blogs, send cards...
hope to see everyone in 2008 also... may everyone be happy! i guess being happy is the most impt bah...
oh ya and to the AS gang.. had a great time over new year count dwn wif u guys... hehee!! hope everyone rested well hor~ and thx to tk n zn for providing the venues!
